History

At Christ the King Catholic Primary School, we aim for a high quality curriculum, which should inspire curiosity and fascination in children when learning about Britain and the wider world. Topics will follow a chronological approach with children learning about early man, ancient civilisations and empires to changes beyond and within living memory. Our learning will reflect how Britain has influenced and been affected by world events throughout history. The children learn different aspects of the history of the wider world and use historical enquiry and ask questions. and learn these skills and knowledge within the classroom environment as well as on fieldtrips and educational visits. As part of new Opening Worlds scheme,  children will develop oracy skills through their continuous responses within lessons and develop a deep knowledge of subject specific vocabulary.
