MFL French

At Christ The King Catholic Primary School we believe that the learning of a Modern Foreign Language provides a rich and valuable educational, social and cultural experience for our pupils. It helps to build strong communication skills as well as promoting self-esteem whilst constantly providing opportunities for cross-curricular learning.

The language offered at Christ The King is French and it is taught across Key Stage 2 with enrichment opportunities for EYFS and Key Stage 1 throughout the year.

Learning another language is vital as it helps to unlock a whole new world for pupils. They are able to engross themselves in a new culture whilst learning valuable oracy and literacy skills. The aim is to promote a love of learning other languages and exploring new cultures whilst providing them with strategies to succeed in linguistics further on in life.

We offer a spiral curriculum taught through the comprehensive Rigolo scheme of work which builds upon itself term after term, year upon year.
